The spa must pass the Ontario’s Finest Spas
Quality Assurance Program with a minimum grade
as set by the Board of Directors. The current
grade is 80% (2006) |

The treatment professionals must be
appropriately qualified and meet Provincial
regulations and/or accredited professional
associations’ standards. The staff must practice
a high level of personal hygiene, and must be
professional in appearance. |

All members must comply with related
legislation as regulated by the Ontario Ministry
of Health. |

There should be a min. of five private
treatment rooms of appropriate size, designated
for the exclusive purpose of providing spa
treatments. |

Private waiting area, change rooms and
bathrooms designated for spa guests should be
provided. |
 |
All equipment, amenities and linens must be
of professional quality and in good repair. |
 |
Members must offer a diversity of treatments
to include massage, aesthetics and body work or
a unique specialized range of treatments. |

The spa should be of architectural interest
and/or historically significant and should
complement its region. The spa should exude
character and be attractively decorated. The
building and grounds should be well maintained. |

The spa must have high standards in all
aspects of their operation. |
 |
The spa must offer the highest possible
standards of hospitality |
 |
The spa must be owner operated, or operated
as if it is. |
 |
The spa owner/manager should have been
active in the management of the spa for a period
of three years. If the spa owner/manager has had
previous experience in the spa industry, this
requirement may be waived. |
