 The Hillcrest sits high above the historic town of Port Hope, on 15 acres of virgin forest overlooking Lake Ontario, one hour east of Toronto. Two Canadian whisky distillers built this magnificent Beaux Arts mansion in 1874 as a wedding present for their children. Seven treatment rooms feature superb heritage stonework and compliment the use of the colour therapy. The spa was the first in Canada to have an outdoor saline pool. Guests can also enjoy indoor and outdoor hot tubs, infrared sauna, yoga room and fitness facility.
The Valenova is the only spa in North America to offer Dr. Hauschka’s holistic skin care products. These organic herbal products are harvested and mixed by hand. inn has seven rooms available for single or double
occupancy and nine rooms for exclusive group use.
The Hillcrest has been a recipient of the CAA
4-Diamond award for accommodations for years
2001-2008. All rooms feature feather beds, Cloud
Nine linens, Valenova bath amenities, turndown
service, robes and slippers. Most rooms have a
choice of Jacuzzi tub, wood-burning fireplace and/or
private deck.
Fine dining at all meals includes local, organic
produce and natural, farm-raised meats. The passion
of the culinary team is evident in the daily
changing menu with detoxifying and heart-friendly
options. Vegetarian, diabetic and celiac choices
available upon request. Guests are invited to bring
their own wine/corkage fee applied or purchase from
our vintage labels.
