Avalon is located at Lock 45 on the Trent Severn Waterway
in Muskoka, one of Ontario’s most popular and affluent
cottage playgrounds. The spa is luxurious, calming and
peaceful. A feeling of water and light is pervasive,
reinforced by dramatic views of Gloucester Pool, part
of the Severn River.
Opened in 2004 as part of an $8m addition to the Inn
at Christie’s Mill, Avalon offers a full range of manicures,
pedicures, facials, wraps and massage, with emphasis
on anti-aging and couples treatments.

There are seven treatment rooms and four special stations
beside the indoor pool and hot tub, all bathed in natural
light from the tall windows. A couples suite is used
for simultaneous treatments.

Signature
anti-aging treatments like microderm abrasions yield
immediate results while being very gentle on the face.
The ‘Timexpert Microdermoxine’ facial for example, is
a topical treatment that softens expression lines after
only one session. The results look and feel like a skin
polish.
Because of the antioxidizing effects of grape pulp,
red grape wraps are used in anti-ageing treatments.
The skin becomes refreshed and rejuvenated. The same
is true for chocolate wraps. Look for both on the menu
at Avalon.
The combination of water and milk forms a silky mousse
used in the Cleopatra Milk Bath, a hydro therapy treatment
for the truly decadent.
Reflexology — a natural healing art, based on the principle
that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond
to every part of the body — and pedicure treatments
are combined at Avalon into a house specialty.

The Inn at Christie’s Mill is a lake country resort
in a beautiful location in the hamlet of Port Severn.
It has a luxury, boutique feel with amenities like high
beds and marble floors, whirlpool tubs and private walks.
It’s the kind of place where you can listen to a Loon
on the water.
The dining is first rate under Executive Chef David
Scoffield.
Downhill and cross-country skiing and championship golf
are just minutes away.

Inn at Christie's Mill is only one and one-half hours
from Toronto, by car.
